5 papers in 5 months.

Since April 2023, my colleague Charlotte Freihse and I have been working with colleagues from the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society on a monthly series of expert workshops and thought papers looking at various topics of platform governance. We developed recommendations on decentralised networks, such as the fediverse, looked at the potential of smaller platforms, explored the role of social media councils, discussed dynamics on sector topics, such as climate and gendered disinformation, and took a closer look at whether and to what extent we are prepared for resilient digital discourse in the run up to the 2024 EU elections.

We closed out our expert workshops this week and the final paper will go live on August 29.
